You mean 1am isn't playtime?
Teenage Zeppo. Does he go into a corner and sulk, or mutter "you just don't understand" under his breath? There are advantages to living with a very elderly and sleepy .
I see offensive posting 11 has been passed.

As a matter of fact, he does sulk.
How anti-climactic to finally read your post. It had taken on such magnitude in my imagination nothing could have lived up to it except continued censorship. Do you think I could appeal to the moderators to have it re-removed? It would add to your mystique.

My mystique must be restored at once. Shall we start the campaign for continued censorship?
I've read through a lot of the places where the moaning goes on. All I can see is previously mild mannered and innofensive folk, like us, pushing the thing to see how far it can go. Lots of sw***ing and the like. Mind you, the innuendo has moved to a higher plane. The thread on renaming the F and F (no ampersands please) from about 240 onwards is really funny.
I'm thinking of having the moving banner across the top of my page with a URL of the week. As you might have noticed, I've found other graphics that they permit. And....

(Psst. If you want the code for the cup of tea smiley, I'll slip it to you privately.)
Hi to the sulky

Very nice! I hadn't been to your page for a while, so I hadn't noticed. Where do you find these secrets?
would be very nice. But I suppose it's not that easy.
The sulky dog says hello back. I've spent the afternoon sewing up his bed, which he decided to unstuff yesterday. I don't know why I bothered, he'll just tear it up again tomorrow. I was planning on gardening and I bought a nice new shovel, but the weather has soured.

Now that I see that fish properly on its blue background, I realize it is a skeleton. Earlier I mistook the bones for multiple fins.

Whatever it looks like I can't get it to fit in! I get the red cross in square (it must have a name?). works though! I had it running across my banner for a little while, but took it away. It was just a test.

It seems we can use any picture that appears anywhere on the BBC web site. At least we can technically; I've left a not for Peta asking if we can do it officially.
Should I tell you how here, or e-mail you?

Now that I've finished, I'll tell you about this:

I would have told you earlier, but you were glaring!
Shame about the picture.

Me, glaring? That was just something blew in my eye.
I got stuck on the 4th clue. I have a head cold which does not help for thinking clearly.

coelacanth Posted Apr 7, 2001
I hope the cold gets better soon.

Have you seen this? It's the very last entry in the Approved Guide:

Ah, back on the trail. I was going to do a search on "napping" and "sleeping" but I keep getting locked out of the site. It seems to be improving lately though, no trouble today.
I am completely bewildered by the latest interdiction on political conversations.

I've just had a quick glance at Mark's statement, and it looks like I probably can't answer that here! It's fairly standard practice that in the run up to an election the BBC must be seen to be neutral. Mention one party and you've got to mention absolutely all of them, even the ones named after Monty Python sketches.
However, we have no election date! So he's anticipating a problem before it's actually necessary.
I lurk round the Number 10 Downing Street chat forums sometimes, so I'll have a look on there and see if there's anything interesting. They are well hidden, and moderated (although they didn't used to be before Christmas). If you'd like the link, I'll e mail it to you.
Do you read the Post? This is interesting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A530245

coelacanth Posted Apr 8, 2001
OK, I've actually posted to a conversation that I was lurking in. Lets see what happens.
I've made reference to the present Government, the present leader of the party that forms the government, his working address, the website for that address (hints only), and I've directly quoted him (attributed).
But, I haven't mentioned an election.

Found the link by following your references. Most of your post still exists, only one [URL removed by moderator].
I'm not surprised that Douglas Adams has not had much to say. If he was actively involved in the site before, it must be difficult to pass it over to new owners. Distancing himself would be a natural reaction. But I get the impression that he has not involved himself deeply in the site for a while now.
I got to "Mules" before the site stopped responding.
Now I really should finish filing my taxes, but h2g2 is so much more
...interesting
...fun
...painless
etc.
