h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*Wonders why Gwennie is smiling with that last glug. Dives down to bring her up and hits deep end area of vodka. Hauls Gwennie out of the water, checks her breathing, thumps her on the back a couple times, checks her breathing, administers CPR until Gwennie throws up all the water/vodka she swallowed and takes a deep breath.*

You ok, Gwennie?

*Gazes up a Mari-Rae through reddened eyes*

Do I know you YOUNG MAN? Where am I? Who am I?

*Starts to panic, stuggles to her feet and falls down with a squelch*

Hic!

Aw MAN! I posted my beautiful swan dive last night, but it was just as h2g2 CRASHED!!

*Realizes Gwennie is back to normal. Helps her to a deck chair and drapes a towel over her shoulders.*

Gwen, when you're feeling a bit better, there are suits to change into behind that door over there.

*Turns back to cloughie.* Well, do it again then. We're all watching!

Yeah cloughie. Let's see the dive. *Passes out scorecards in anticipation.*

*Forgot that she really wanted to try out the water slide. Climbs to the top of the ladder and slides down on her stomach. Executes a perfect bellyflop. In stantly, marks ranging from 8 to 10 pop up.* Owww. I hate when that happens.

shazz really wants to give Alicat a 9 but accidently holds the card the wrong way up

*Gwennie sits in her deck chair, watching the throng of people holding up numbers and two Alicats performing a spectacular belly flop on the water, not realising that she's suffering from vodka-induced double vision*

My, this forum has got crowded!

*Shuffles through her numbers in nervous anticipation. Drops 10 into the pool. She watches it sink, not exactly hoping that cloughie will screw up, but hoping he won't do a perfect swan dive because now she will have to be the only rotten judge not to give a 10.*

*sneakily passes Marie-rae her zero and one in anticipation of never needing to use those particular numbers!*

Cloughie is taking his time climbing that ladder, isn't he?

*Signals one of the hovering crew members and orders fresh drinks all around.*

That'll tide us over while we wait.

*Gratefully takes drink and orders some nobbles to tied everyone over while watching Cloughie hovering precariously at the top of the diving board*
Will he ever get around to diving I wonder!

*Nudges Shazz.* ~confidentially~ He has nice legs, don't you think?

*Rests in lounge chair on her back. Her pink tummie is still very tender. Sends whistles and cat-calls in cloughie's direction.* Ahh, these cocktails are fantabulous.

*Very slowly, Gwennie's vision returns to normal (or what passes for normal) and she can't quite figure out why her friends are standing/lying around the pool staring at the diving board and holding up number cards*

I say chaps! What's going on? *Stands too quickly and has to hold her head to stop the world spinning*

Where's Cloughie?

He's going to do a swan dive for us. *Passes Gwennie some number cards. Waits for her to notice Cloughie as he slooooowly climbs the steps to the diving board.*

OK, OK! I'm GOING!!!

*he steps onto the diving board, takes 2 steps, bounces then flies HIGH into the air - arms and wings spread wide. he glides aound in a nice downward spiral, then just as he's about to hit the water, he tucks into a watermelon, making a HUGE splash that soaks everyone around the pool*

*coming up out of the water with the '10' card in hand* I don't care what anyone else thinks, I can rate myself!!

*Applause, applause*
Wonderful... most definately a ten in my book, although I now seem to be very wet indeed!
~aside... he does rather! I hope he tries out another dive so we can admire the view when he climbs the ladder ~

*Leaps into the water tucking her body up into a ball and splashes Cloughie right in the face as she comes down next to him. It was beautifully done.*
