Aww, that's sweet.
I wonder if it was a toy, or a real frog?
I once lost my very favourite toy, a pixie doll called Pisky Pip. I stuck notices all over my local area, asking if anyone had found a green pixie... Never did get him back.

I'm sorry about your pixie...
I did a bit more research on the frog last night, and aparently it was a McDonald's happy meal toy. The loser of the frog was a 16 year old autistic boy from Seattle. You can find out more here if you're interested: http://mike.whybark.com/archives/001951.html
Somehow, the text on his flyer puts me in mind of e e cummings' poetry.

Quite sad really when you read the story behind it
I hope the frog found a good home, whereever it ended up

Wow, that's a really fascinating story!
It's such a shame they couldn't give the new one to him. I hope the father was right, I guess he knows his child best.
Maybe I should start something on the internet to see if they can find my pisky? I was completely devastated when I lost him. It's funny how children can get *so* attached to toys, they can become so much more than inanimate objects.
I still have a pink rabbit called pink bun who would be the only thing I'd be really tempted to rescue if my house burnt down. The psychology behind it would be interesting to investigate. I did try to look up info on attachments to comforters/teddies on the internet at one point, but didn't manage to find anything, too many teddy shops and retail outlets to be able to wade through it all and find anything really relevant.
Key: Complain about this post
