Hi J, I'm going around putting the copy and pasted message in:
Hi, I'm pretty certain you're aware that h2g2 is under old management, well it's more a case of giving the lunatics the keys to the asylum, but anyhoo I digress.
One of the things that we're doing in the tidy up is removing the references to the BBC, as it's no longer a BBC site. The downside to this I'm afraid is that we're closing the BBC Testers group, and removing the badges.
I'm sorry, there's no easy way to say that. 
Don't worry though, we will in the near future be opening a h2g2 Testers group, so you could get a nice shiney new badge.
There, one copy and pasted message. I hope you sign up for the new testers group when we get it running.

I never tested for the sake of a badge :D to be honest I was surprised it was still there when I reopened my h2g2.com account. ♥
