Hi Joanna, good to see you on saturday.
Have you seen some of the pics that are up already? There are a couple of your funky blue ball and it looks good. I think it does look really good in the photos.

I've seen the one I took with B-17's camera, and it's way cool...

(had to leave the ball at home today, because I daren't take it to lectures )

I understand why you might not want to take it to lectures, it's far too good for that.

okay, maybe I saw the one taken with Munchkin's camera, then... *confused* its kind of wierd to look and think, I took that!

I entertained my housemates and some friends with it yesterday evening. Its still just the coolest thing, and I didn't want to turn it off last night when I went to bed...

What's the power source it uses? Some kind of rechargeable thing given the socket on it.

It's just mains rechargeable. I'm not sure how long it needs charging for... I know it was 12 hours the first time, but it might be different after that.



BTW Jo, you said on Saturday that you wanted some way of putting a blue ball onto your page... well, there's kinda one there already isn't there? - the planet orbiting the star in the picture near the top of your page is blue... it looks a bit like your blue ball....

Hmm. It occurs to me that the art dept. may very well have gotten the colours the wrong way around on that picture... or maybe not... hmmm. *exits physicist mode*

And its not a planet, its another star. Because if it was a planet there's no way it could have filled up its roche lobe, and be forming an accretion disk around the other star, as the picture so clearly shows that it is!

ahem. *genuinely exits physics mode*


It needs 12 hours of charging for 5 hours of on-ness... but you can have it on while its charging if you want...
