Rain!

Thankfully, we finally had some rain -- two days of off and on drizzle. We haven't had any since the little bit in my last journal entry (three weeks, it says), and things were getting bad.
Somehow, even after that massive flood in May, we are still deficient of normal rainfall by several inches, and the local creek is totally dry again for only the second time I can remember in forty years.
So now we're in the driest month of the year. But I'm going to hope it will be as uncharacteristic as the rest of this year has been. (I think most of those folks who needed to cut hay have had plenty of time to do it during last months drought.)
Well, I've been throwing wash water on my kale seedlings, and they are looking nice. Here's to fresh greens for Thanksgiving dinner!
