Hiya sweetie
It was wonderful to meet you on Friday - I'm sure I said it many times, but you have *nothing* to apologise to me for. I had a great time - it's such a shame you didn't get to meet Nyssa... I did my best with the photos, taking as many as I could without seeming impolite... If you see any of mine (when I get the developed - which will be soon!) that you want copies of, just let me know.
And thanks for all the books, and my pressie I've just got to find somewhere to display it now - somewhere I'm not likely to knock it onto the floor and break it!

*raises eyebrow* what am I mean to say to them??? give them a stick to poke the monitor with
I think they got these computers on Lottery money. Hehehe, its very sweet, they all have padlocks on the back so you cant open them
Wele!!!
The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Posted Jan 28, 2003
Maybe 'Get some decent computers'?
Hehehe... I remember all the PCs at uni being locked as well... why don't they trust us?

I've no idea, I mean....one of the big points of a library is to Learn, and you cant Learn about computers if you dont look inside one.
Well, you can, but then you can also know about the plotline of a book without reading it...
Wele!!!
The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Posted Jan 28, 2003
Hmmm... Perhaps they're just a little (teensie-weensie) bit worried that people might take the computers apart, and not be able to put them back together again... or worse, run off with some of the bits!

*ahem* No offence to anyone who uses these computers, but....especially the 2 people on the others @ the moment, they'd probably use the RAM for spreading their butter on their toast....so...I doubt they'd know what to do with the inside...which backs up your point. Im meant to be arguing with you, damnit
Wele!!!
The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Posted Jan 28, 2003
You can never beat me in an argument...
If that's what they'd do to teh RAM, I dread to think what they'd do with the hard drive!

Of course, this is a generation brought up by the TV...
it feels really....ancient-making..(nessing...) that they've never heard or seen of the Betamax videos...

*nods*
I was talking to Marcus the other day, and I asked if his computer had old keyboard and mouse sockets (...5 pin I think) or new ones (green and purple) and he said that by 'old' he thought of the green and purple and New was USB!
The days of 256mb Ram...and if I've got the figure wrong leave me alone Im dyslexic

The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Posted Jan 28, 2003
Yes, I remember the old 5 pin DIN plugs... teh computer I took to uni with me had them! And only 32 MB of memory!
