I am indeed
First I thought the clarinet, but....meh, its not very origional,
so the natural progression was OBOE
I'd love to play the bassoon, but I wont go overboard

From what I can remember of Youth Orchestra a few years ago, not that many people learn the oboe. Good luck with it! I really ought to do some trumpet practise one of these days...

*grooves* its allll in the lips!
So many odd looks heaving it @ band contests behind the stereotypical tuba player (35+ male, slightly on the worse side of a 36" waist ). lots of fun though.
If I thought I could travel by tube with it, I would lugg my BBb down for you to try

I shall buy one of those books for grade 1'rs that shows you all the fingering and try and progress from there. I dont think I have the courage or coping skills to handle tuition

Well given your current musical ability, I should think that's all you need. The main thing is to enjoy yourself!
