I'm not really here

Just read your Personal Space and you sound like nearly every other h2g2 Researcher - I'm not supposed to be on the computer at the moment either - I'm supposed to be filling in a very long and boring form.

Can you say what charity you work for? I do some charity work, but not much - only if it's to do with dogs!

I'm halfway through. It's such a long and tedious process that I do a few pages, then need a couple of days rest.

That sounds a good job to have - I signed up to a site in England that looked as if it was looking after the volunteers for quite a few charities, but it seemed very out of date.

Hadn't heard of that one, I went through this site: http://www2.btcv.org.uk and this one: http://www.do-it.org.uk/

There are loads of places I know I could volunteer, and I do some for some dog charities already, but I'm doing an Environmental Studies degree (very slowly and mostly badly) so wanted something relevant.

I have lots of pens! People keep giving them to me with their forms they want filled in - normally for credit cards or loans. I keep the pen, recycle the rest!

Yeah they should be able to pin point you in the right direction or you could try http://www.volunteering.org.uk/

This link http://www.volunteering.org.uk/WhatWeDo/Local+and+Regional/ will give you a list of volunteer centres in England and they are usually really helpful too. Although I have only had experience with the ones in Wales.

where are you doing your degree?

Ahhhh thats the vest thing about them forms! heehee! The free pens. And conferences are good for that too smiley - winkeye Long live free pens!

I'm with the OU - which is why I'm doing it very slowly! I will need the practical work as well as the theory for better job prospects, especially as I'm a 'mature' student.

I got a hat at a conference once, still got it somewhere, for 'emergencies'. smiley - biggrin
