capital lies
Posted Dec 18, 1999
That's what you've been fed all of your life: capitalism, the devouring of your fellow brethern for higher status in the chain of cannabalism. What does it profit a man to gain the world if he loses his soul? Think hard on that the next time you are standing in line at the store, the next time you clock in at work, or the next time you purchase a product made of a non-renewable resource. Do you need it? Is your momentary satisfaction worth the pain of suffering and the denial of beauty you put yourself and your children through? Peace before profits, prophets before piecemeal destruction of culture and integrity.
Just about anywhere you live, there are people less fortunate than yourself. You have the power to deny their existence, their inherit kinship to yourself. You also have the power to have compassion, and see that they are humans as well, they deserve dignity. There is no dignity in a child too hungry to learn, too burned by injustice to learn love. There is no dignity left in a society that ignores it's children to the point they become murderers. The guilt of this is on everyone, everyone who walks by injustice and hate and turns a blind eye.
Capital lies, you are not better than anyone, worth more than anyone...
"What you do unto the least of these, you do unto me.."
Jesus H. Christ
Capital lies, you will not go hungry if you share your bounty, there is enough for everyone, food shortages are a capitalist driven phenomenon. Food gets tossed out on a daily basis for lack of a buyer, tons of garlic not sold in California were doused with kerosene in order to keep anyone from getting anything for free. Capital lies, they poison your water and then sell you water filters.

Practical randomness:
Posted Dec 13, 1999
Call at least 5 (five) people at random, out of the phone book. Simply introduce yourself, and ask them what the meaning of life is. Really - it's fun to learn more about your fellow man,and you get to freak 'em out a little in the process...

What we have here...
Posted Dec 9, 1999
is the very center of the center off center. Sometimes truth comes slipping thruough the cracks, the amount that leaks thru shall depend upon the width & viscosity of these cracks.
I'd like my foundation shaken, then blurred.

Random acts of kindness
Posted Dec 8, 1999
Try this - it's good for your soul. Stop and take the time to look one old lonely guy sitting on his porch in the eyes, and say hi. You'd be surprised how much a little act can mean to someone. Let someone with less items than you go in front of you in the supermarket (very simple, surely within anyones grasp). Let at least one car in front of you at every on ramp possible - how do you think you got on the freeway in the first place? Send random, anonymous postcards with messages of surreal hope (a giggle and a glow is a good goal). Would it be too much to ask of you? Are you too busy or important to simply be courteous to other beings around you, or to stop for a moment and give them a piece of your happiness? Give away everything you own, you'll get more. Give away all of the love and happiness you have, you will be flooded with the return.
To the needless go the goods.
