This is the first time I've writen this year, isn't it?! Anyway, hiya everyone. I hope you had a good christmas and new year (that seems forever ago doesn't it?!) and the past few months have been good for you. My life is really starting to kick off now and it is all go....

A-level stress is starting to build up as the exams get closer and closer and I get nagged more and more about the fact that I'm failing everything but English Literature. I'm supposed to do a biology degree next year but I'm even failing that at the moment! My English lit teacher says she wants to see me do biology because it would make a change to see a literate scientist!!

I have had three new teachers in the last term. Which is refreshing I guess, if not a little annoying. I have one new biology teacher and both my English lit teachers have changed. All for various reasons I won't go into. They are all nice in their own way I suppose.

I've had five offers out of six for universities, only Nottingham turned me down but I knew I didn't have a hope in hell of going there anyway!! I decided I'm going to spend the next three years of my life living in Plymouth. Second choice is Portsmouth.

I have managed to get myself another job, but I'm staying at my old one as well!! I am now a member of staff at Greenacre Leisure! I need two jobs because my friends and I want to go on a holiday this summer as one last thing to do together before we go our seperate ways. It's gonna cost me a fortune! It should be a great laugh though.

How long have a rambled on for now?! Far to long I think! There is more stuff I could write about but I don't want to bore you even more than I have already!!!!

I guess seeing as it has been over a week since I promised to write about my weekend away, I'd better get on with it!!

Friday night was good, we went to the Squaddy and it was it's ususal wonderful self! We didn't go on to Patsies as planned, but went to bed instead. Now I'm glad we did becasue we would have been zombies the next morning otherwise!! The bands were all right, they did a couple of good cover versions.

On Saturday we went into Sandown shopping. I bought a little teddy Snowball to go with my teddy Santas Little Helper and a couple of cool shot glasses. We played the Simpsons arcade game on the pier and then went back to Ryde, where we sat around doing stuff until it was time to get ready to go out again. We went to the Squaddy again but only for the last hour, to have 'pre-patsie drinks'! The music was much better that night actually... Patsies was a laugh, we got completely slaughtered and danced to loads of old tunes. We requested Queen but I dn't think they had any.
On our way back, we were drunkenly walking down the road when we heard a shout from a balcony. We looked up and there were three guys so we stopped for a chat. The old woman next door was not impressed because this was 2:30 am!! We ended up sitting outside 'til 5:30 talking o them becasue they were really nice. The problem was that I consequentialy caught the flu!

We went back to Newbury on the Sunday, but we are planning to go back at New Year!! That was my birthday weekend!!

Today is my birthday! I'm finaly 18, and I can do all the things I have been doing legally! I am in a good mood (as you would expect seeing as it is my birthday) and I have lots of plans for later.

Claire, Gemma, Louise (who also turns 18 today) and I are agoing to the Isle of Wight for the weekend, so we can spend the Friday night at the bast place ing the world - the Squaddy (Royal Squadron, officialy) in Ryde. We aren't comming back until Sunday so that should give us just enough time to recover before we see our families!!

I got lots of great presents. The sweetest little mobile (Nokia 3210), a palm top computer and a tv. And best of all was a Queen calender from Louise, there are loads of pictures of Roger Taylor looking gorgeous in it! She wont be reading this but Louise, Thankyou!

I will write about the drunken goings on of our expedition when I get back (if I can still type!) smiley - winkeye

I have quite a bit to write, and I would have written before but the school computer system crashed.

On Thursday we did lots of driving. We had nothing to do so we (Claire, Louise and I) drove to Abingdon. If you don't know, that is about 1/2 hour from where I live, but it managed to take us 1 hour!! We turned aroung and drove strait back. There was no point ot this, we just felt like it.
That evening we went bowling which was a laugh, except I came second from last!! We were bored afterwards and so we went for a drive to the Watermill Teatre in the middle of the country side just outside of town. And then we drove strait back! As I said, we were bored!!

On Friday I had the day off school so I went to work. I wish I hadn't becasue that place only depresses me but money is money so I did it.

Sarurday was fun, I went shopping with my grandma and she bought me a lovely new outfit aswell as some cd's, I got the Muse album, Blurs Greatest Hits and Surrender by Roger Taylor. I doubt any of you have heard of the last one, it is a single that came out about a year ago and didn't do anywhere near as well as it should have. It is so cool!
Then I went to the theatre and we saw A Servant Of Two Masters. I know the origional isn't thrilling but this was such a loose translation that they made it very, VERY funny.

On Sunday we went for lunch in a pub down th canal, which was quite nice, if a little tame. My grandma gave me my birthday present but I'm not aload to open it untill my birthday. I'm really curiouse to know what it is because the box is half the height of me and it is very heavy! Also, when I got home, I had been offered a place at Portsmouth university to do biology. It isn't my top choice but I am so pleased that I have been offered a place somewhere!! I am just waiting for Keele to beg for my brain!!

I can't wait untill Friday because not only am I going to be 18 but I am going on holiday with some friends to the Isle Of Wight. You may laugh but it is actually a cool place!! I'm sure there will be plenty to tell you about when I get back! I just have to get through this physics test in two days time first... HELP!

Today, and this weekend, is going to be REALLY busy. First I have to go to a pointless sixth form lecture on something very strange that we will never need to know about. Then I have to walk all the way into town (about 20 mins) to go to the library to take a cd back, before walking all the way back to school again for a bilogy revision type lesson that goes on till about 5:00pm. After that I have to walk home (about 40 mins) to get change and eat etc. before going to the bowling alley on the other side of town for 8:00pm.

Whenever we have finished at the bowling alley, I have to go home and get as much homework done as possible because I won't get a chance over the weekend. And I still have to get an early night so I will be working faster than I ever have before!! Friday morning I have to get up early to go to work (it is staff traing day so we have the day off school) and do my really boring but tiring job all day. After that I have to get any more homework done so my weekend is totlay free.

Saturday morning (at about 8:00) I have to travel across the country to Bath and then be dragged around town by my grandma, shopping. Admitedly it is my birthday so she is shopppng for me, but you have nevr seen my grandma shop. She is a shopoholic and buys anything and everything in site, it wears you out!! Then I have to get ready to go to the theatre with my step-grandad because he got tickets to a Shakespearian comedy that is on. It should be really good, but he won't tell me which one!!

Then on Sunday morning I have to go all the way back across the country to go home. And sleep! The weekend after that will be just as, if not more, hectic than this one!! AAAAHHHHHRRRRRR! I know everyone is rallying around to do loads of nice stuff for my 18th, and I do really apreciate it, but I can't help thinking it would be nice to sit in front of the TV and not have nay fuss!! Does that sound ungreatful and/or selfish? I hope not because I don't mean it to be. smiley - smiley
