Thank you for the welcome. I checked out your quotes. I haven't read them all, but I found several great ones in their. I am impressed that you collected them all. I am assuming you got your name from the Peregrin Falcon as you have a picture of one on your page. There is a character in The Lord of the Rings, however, nicknamed Pippin, whose real name is Peregrin Took. Initially, I thought that is where you got your name. Anyways, thanks again for the welcome. I think this site is a great idea.

I got my name from both, really... I'm a big fan of Tolkien.
The quotes were mainly collected from internet quote archives... I searched through a lot of rubbish to find ones that I like. Time consuming but it was worth it.
There's a good Tolkien forum somewhere in H2G2 I think... I haven't looked at it for a while though. Of course the big subject at the moment is the Lord Of The Rings film due to be released next year

Yes. Myself and several of my friends are eagerly awaiting the arival of that movie. I shall have to find the forum on Tolkien. I really enjoyed his work. I finished reading the quotes, but there are so many I shall have to read them again to pick out the ones I shall remember. How do the ACE's choose who will welcome whom? I have a friend that just recently joined h2g2 and I saw on his page that you welcomed him as well. Just a question. If it is official ACE's business, I will understand.

No problem It's not half as organised as you might expect! We've got a variety of people over different time zones, so in theory there's ACEs on 24 hours a day. If we see a new user, we go and welcome them. The only way of checking if another ACE has done so is to go to the user's page and see. This means that quite frequently one ACE begins to write a welcome message, and meanwhile another ACE turns up and begins to write another, each unaware of each other. And so some new researchers get two or three welcome messages, and some may go completely unnoticed. Good isn't it
