I apologize for the accidental molestations I made to your Entry.
Remember that I'm not paid to edit. I'm not a professional. Whether or not you meant to attack me personally, I'm still offended.

If you were offended, I apologise. I didn't actually think you were responsible for the change - I contacted you only because you, as a subEd, have closer contact with the Eds than most and would be able to get the mistake corrected.
Changing correct text to incorrect, ungrammatical, or just plain factually WRONG text is something that the (paid) Editors (professional journalists, as they've recently reminded me) have done not once but at least THREE times before to my entries alone. I therefore assumed this was them again, and was just hoping you could expedite the fix.
I appreciate that you aren't paid. But you do want to do the best job you can, don't you? Therefore, one tip, which the paid Editors didn't seem to take on board the first three times I offered it to them:
If something is correct, don't change it.
If you *think* something is incorrect, CHECK before you change it. Taking the authors (correct) words and adding your own mistakes is surely the worst thing an editor (paid or unpaid) can ever do.
If it's something you can't check easily - ask the author. It's very easily done here, and my previous dealings with SubEds have been universally positive, and I've written a LOT of entries by most people's standards.
I certainly didn't mean to attack you personally. Apologies, once again, for any offence caused.
H.
