Hi SC
saw your posts on the "dole family on holiday" thread and thought I'd come over to say hello and offer
my was kicked out of his job on 1st January - he worked at a golf club and last summer when it was 18 hours a day it was "don't worry, we'll make it up when winter comes" and of course, come winter "oh we can't afford you - byeeee"
he's 48 and he works so hard (and he is an excellent with 30 years experience, including cooking for royalty) but he is being offered jobs that wouldn't pay enough to feed and house an anorexic teenager who lives with his mum - let alone contribute to the finances of a 2 kid family.
Keep your chin up and keep at it - I can't promise light at the end of the tunnel, but I can feel for you and I hope something comes up soon

Thanks, Sho, and the best to on his hunt, as well...it's so frustrating to go through this stuff, especially when you have family counting on you. and for the !
I've got a busy day tomorrow -- an eye appt in the am and an interview (Yay!) in pm, right here a couple of blocks from my home -- it'd be lovely with that short a communte!

Thanks! I hope it helps, because I didn't do a good interview, at all. First off, group interview -- two guys in their mid 20's. Secondly, when I picked the Monday slot, I forgot I had an eye appt in the am -- so my eyes were so dilated, I couldn't see worth beans, not mention looking like the biggest druggie on the planet.
Still, I wasn't *too* stupid, one hopes, and I have prior experience in just that kind of job. I'll find out, if/when I'm invited to meet the partners in two weeks time...

*crosses everything*
sometimes interviews that you don't feel went well are the best from the other side's point of view. So don't give up hope!
Key: Complain about this post
