I like this. It's not only funny but has the feel of beng well-observed. I suspect you are an older brother.
Mind you I would never try to use my son's bedroom for anything because I can hardly get through the door.
One or two nitpicks.
The sentence beginning 'Your mother got once' should be 'Your mother once got desperate and lent'.
The sentence beginning 'That's the clothes basket' should be 'That's because the clothes basket.'

Actually, I'm an older sister, and my mum is currently using my room to stash there everything from the living room, because she wants to repaint the walls.
Thanks for 'nitpicks'.
I should work on my word order. I'm not quite sure where the 'there' in the sentence up there belongs.
