I don't think it's too late at all. The creation date says 'July' and I am going to take that as a qualifier.

I'll read this when I am not immediately heading out to take elderly parents to the shops. ie when I can concentrate.

You can trust the French to turn a major sporting event into an occasion for a good meal.

Brilliant! It's an age since I saw a stage of the Tour de France. And you saw Wiggins - I am so jealous.

Recently the Tour of England went right through our village, so the atmosphere, helicopters, outriders, pre-riders, support cars, ambulances etc, make the whole event far bigger than the cyclists themselves. But so exciting! You've captured this, and wrapped it into the atmosphere of a French town.

I love cycle races. Perhaps they are the modern day equivalent of a cavalry charge, a huge amount of power and testosterone.


I'm delighted that this will be featured in the Post.

As for the testosterone, I was disappointed to read that the women's version of the Tour de France has been abandoned. Not enough sponsorship, I think.
