Oh dear, Lord Preston, this certainly seems to have slipped through the cracks. smiley - sadface

I am really glad that you are still (relatively) current and still around on the site, because I *really* like this entry smiley - ok; it is just a shame it isn't more current. Though in the light of the deafening silence which greeted its appearance here in the AWW, that is hardly a surprise.

So I am bumping this up to the top of the page here in AWW to see whether or not we can generate a bit more interest.

What do other Miners think?

Ben

Oh, and now I feel like a bowl of petunias suffering deja vu all over again, just like last time. Since there are protests afoot once more.

Do you know what worries me about synchronicity? How come - since I am always late - the universe still manages to slip me up with co-incidences?

Is the Universe running 20 minutes behind-hand too?

yes, very topical, smiley - smiley

so what's this march that was 'about to happen' at the time of writing all about then? is it still 'about to happen' or perhaps 'about to happen again'?

not sure where this fits in the general scheme of h2g2 - i spose it's an 'H2g2 on H2g2' piece...

nicely written, too.

From the way things are shaping up just at the mo, it may need an extra section in the not-too-distant...

Hi Lord P

This is a good summary, but there are a couple of other kinds of protests too. Check out The Full History of the Short Guide A688476 for a successful long-term low-key approach. This was happening at the same time Lucinda compiled his list of Naughty Words, which is mentioned in the Full History.

And the UnderGuide itself is the result of a similar but different low-key protest movement, also involving persistence, patience and negotiation with the Italics.

If the entry was more up-to-date, I would be keen to promote it as a potential UG entry.
