Entry: Diary of a Greenland Viking - A4481976
Author: Mike McCulloch - U246476
As the climate changes for the worse in Greenland, and the hardy Inuit move south into their lands, the last surviving Vikings living there decide to head for the warmer climes of Vinland..

Thorstein the Bone Head. I love it. (Matter of fact, I'm fairly certain I worked for one of his descendants some years back. Thankfully, I came to my senses and caught the next tram out of town.)
I hope we get to see a few more diary entries as time goes by.
Thanks!

I agree, more entries would be most welcome as the potential to spin a broad and vivid tale exists if this first portion is any indication.
The feel is so realistic, with just the right amount of dry humor as to be authentic, and living as I do among Scandinavians I know whence I speak.
I have always loved the subterfuge of calling the inhospitable land Greenland while naming the fairer clime Iceland. That has got to rank in the top 100 greatest ruses in history, right up there with the Trojan horse and 'Fat Free' food products

Hoorah, I like it! You could really do something with this you know, each chapter expanding upon the story. I can see folks waiting for the next installment with anticipation, myself included.
I would suggest giving each chapter a title, though continued under the heading of the 'Diary' thus maintaining continuity while allowing for easy to read portions at regular intervals.
I will be looking forward to reading more, so search out that muse like it's a lost chicken and get to writing. That child won't find itself

It's an interesting mix of the real and the comic, and then turning serious in tone, with young Harold going missing. Which is life-like too.
Kind of interested to know what happened to him and how the serious tone of last bits are going to come back to fit in with the tone at the beginning. Hope there's more.
