Infertility. It's a subject that is as difficult to discuss as it is to write about. Yet in this piece, the author has managed to bring a fresh perspective to the forum, that being hope. Not in the sense of a grand miracle, but instead, of something obtainable, something real.
The story unfolds to reveal the heartache and dispair which are all to common in situations of this nature. The unspoken feelings of betrayal so much a part of what is already a sad situation.
And it's at this point that hope springs forth in the form of a reawakening of the spirit. Self worth is rediscovered, and the darkness that has shrouded all aspects of existance lifts.
Good things come to those who wait, or so the saying goes. In the case of this story, the reader is left cheering, for in the end, all is right with the world, and the hope becomes a gift for all.
Thank you Carole, this was a most uplifting tale.

A difficult subject to tackle. You caught my attention and kept me reading. The part that spoke to me most was the last part, where Claire meets the child. I can see Mike's mother, and the child's room and the image of the child is a beautiful one. I felt a bit sorry for Mike's Ma.
Are you looking for review style criticisms or here to share? Either way, thanks for sharing. It's not easy putting work you care about up in front of strangers .
