Entry: Bonoboism - A3125224 Author: Edward the Bonobo - He held me like a cigarette behind a squaddy's bag. - U803114 Work In Progress, but comments welcome. It started when I got frustrated with some of the irrationalist fundamentalists down at the Freedom From Faith Foundation (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F80629?thread=155651&post=5954029#p5954029) So I decided I'd invent my own religion, partly as satire, but mainly out of resignation (If you can't beat 'em....) OK, so it's hardly an original idea, but it keeps me happy. By the way - where do you guys keep your AWW Peer Review stuff?

I like this a lot, really.
You need to put an address at the bottom for would be followers to send cash (or a photo if attractive). Before you know it you'll have a US cable show and a secret base in Switzerland!
Is Arthur Conan-Doyle a sort of John the Baptist figure in Bonoboism?

Arthur Conan Doyle wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm trying to work in some refernces to St Washoe, St Lucy and St Nim Chimpsky too.
I hadn't thought of the money angle - but it could be a could idea. I wonder if I could hook John Travolta or Tom Cruise?
My intent is to design a religion which (like other religions) can be used to support any viewpoint - even directly opposed philosophies. I also hope to satirise a prevalent view on the Freedom From Faith Foundation that there are many valid viewpoints about reality. Bonoboism will be one such viewpoint...just an evidently silly one.
