In the first week of English class we were asked to write our teacher a letter of introduction. Since it was the second time I'd had her and we know each other fairly well, I was trying to tell her the things she didn't know. This may not make a lot of sense to you if you don't know a little about me already, but here it is anyway.

This is wonderful! I love it when writers can refer to the work they're writing with taste.
I really identify with the bathroom scene you mention in the introduction. Sometimes I do work in the elementary(primary?) school in my town and I get the most horrified looks from 8-year-olds that I think I've ever seen in the bathroom.
Good job!

I think this makes a lot of sense - it gives a snapshot of a young person who combines intelligence and an independent spirit.
