There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Oct 3, 2002
'Fraid I've never been able to get a handle on poetry, except for a few bits of narrative verse I had to study at school - Thomas the Rymer, The Ancient Mariner, and the one about "Lars Porsena of Clusium, by the nine gods he swore, that the great house of Tarquin should suffer wrong no more." Well, whatever you or I may think of the name 'Tarquin', fact is - if that's your moniker you're gonna slapped around in the playground pretty bad.
Well done though for putting it in the right place this time. I'll leave others to judge the artistic content.

I like this. I really like the imagery, and I also like the fact it isn't a Haiku, (a form of verse which I persistantly fail to 'get').
This is good, evocative, and says just not quite enough, which is the perfect amount.
I hope my fellow Underguiders like it as much as I do.

I still feel the same way about this, so I am bumping it up to the top of the forum for a while.

I like this to. It has good imagery and the rhthym is there.
This is ringing bells with me, I have seen something similar to this somewhere else. I'll have a loko for it and get back to you.

Please do. Though one of the things that I find depressing about writing poetry, is that no human emotion is unique and every love affair is a cliche. It makes it hard to be original.
I really respect you for doing the on-line searches to check stuff, KJ.

Nah I thought I'd seen something similar on another writing site I've been subscribed to for a while, but it was a little different.
As you say Ben, it's hard writing poetry about love, since every teenager and their dog has covered the emotions involved.
I do like this one. It is short and too the point with some nice imagery in there as well.
(so no searching, just revisiting old websites I know )

its about suicide, the stupidity of it all, how its easy to look back and see where you went wrong but not as easy to repair the damage....glad

Good to see you are still around, ~T~. So many of our good writers have left the building. I will take a look at some more of the stuff that no-one has talked about since last summer, and see what I think.#
Thanks for coming back to this thread.
