I enjoyed reading this, but had a few quick questions. Firstly, if this is partly autobiographical, when is it set? I am guessing present day, but that isn't clear.
Also, you mention a 'Megacentre' - is that the name of a supermarket-like shop they on? (I did a quick internet search for 'Megacentre' and found a soft play centre and Christian charity).

I added details to confirm it is set roughly in the present day, yes.
I wasn't really sure what the Megacentre was while I was watching first time, but I now see it is a school and community centre so I added that in
