Jim Sheridan's film about the artist Christy Brown, who suffered from cerebral palsy and thus could only paint with his left foot. The first quote sounds like a typical Dublin line - and I'm pretty sure I remember the second one was from the film - said by his mother or something..

It has indeed. He's worked with Jim Sheridan in another film aswell - the political one - "In the Name of the Father". That was it. I seem to remember I enjoyed "My Left Foot". It was very moving, and very inspiring too.
