I only said that interro came from interrogatio which is the Latin from which to interrogate is from, not that the whole word came from the Latin...that would be pretentious

Traveller in Time has kindly done a page of interrobangs for us to look at, so I've added a link for that.

Actually you say "This would combine the question mark and exclamation mark in a neat solution. He named it from the Latin for query, 'Interrogatio'".

That suggests to me that he thought of the Latin word Interrogatio and said to himself, I'll use that as part of the name. I think he said to himself "well it's made from an interrogation point and an exclamation point. The exclamation point is popularly known as 'bang', so why not call it an 'interrobang'?"

What would you suggest instead?

The question mark is often in America called the interrogation point, from the Latin ...etc. He came up with the name 'Interrobang' from 'interrogation' and the jocular name of the '!' as 'bang'.

Well' that's exactly as I interpretedc what Kat had meant in the first place.

Well I've changed it slightly now anyway....take a peek at that and see if that makes more sense.

I can't believe I have gone 28 years without ever having heard of an interrobang. I find this entry strangely fascinating. Well done!

Links and anchors should be worked into the text, and not done as "see this HERE".

The second part in italics, is that a quote? If so, there needs to be a direct citation -- who said it, what year, etc.

Can you find a picture of an interrobang anywhere on the web and link to that? You can't link to Traveller's page because it is not edited. (I'm not sure either that it will work with every skin on every possible browser.)

*looks deflated*

Bother. Oh wait! It will be REALLY easy for the eds or artists to make a picture with one on...couldn't I use that? Then it would be easily seen and accessible. Or should I not depend on that?

Talk to Jimster. He's an ed and an artist. He has often made up pictures for me.

Don't see why not; it's quite important to be able to actually see one, isn't it?

We are encouraged to write entries that don't require lots of pictures, because it is extra work for the eds putting them in place. There are lots of entries I'd like to write which I can't because they require pictures.

He hasn't replied to emails people have sent in for a week or so

Also I just checked Traveller's page in...IE, Mozilla Netscape, and Opera and it looked exactly the same in all three.

So, given pictures as well, how many *would* you have written by now? You've already had more in the EG than I've had conversations....

I'm sure I saw a post from him last week saying he was on holiday, you know....

Yeah he was and then he was ill...or the other way round or something...but he's been back since last week.

There goes my excuse for not being emailed about being a scout!
