Its funny how some poems seem to write themselves as this one did, although I have revised it slightly since. I wrote it sitting in my car waiting for a visitor to a patient suffering a mental breakdown.

Very cool stuff - I love it. Yesterday I liked it for the sound and words and some of the ideas started. Today I googled Maslow to better understand the whole (I do like writing that makes me go and look things up). Many thanks for this,
Waz

A poem to make one think. I like the use of line-end rhyme and internal rhymes. (Though I'd normally avoid an inversion like 'No marks do they engrave.')
It made me think of Sebastian Faulk's 'Human Traces', which I've recently read and added to my personal list of 'great literature'.

I've not really got into Sebastian Faulks. Again I am pleased it strikes a cord. GA

Sorry to be so slow getting around to this. But worth the wait.
Nor history to corrupt at all...I like that.
The idea reminds me a bit of the ending of 'Cyrano'. Thanks.
