Very interesting I like the way you've used the names and certain words to make certain bits sound best. Very good sort of story to read aloud.
Having said that, are you planning on a series of stories on this gentleman hero? It looks like it could end up working very well

Hello
for the feedback & the kind words. And yes - there's a lot more nonsense like that in the pipeline ... if only I had the time.
In the late 1980's, a friend told me that he'd bought a property in "Great Knollys Street", funnily enough in good ol' Reading (A1093051). Another friend and I thought that "Great Knolly" sounded like a famous magician or a Victorian Gentleman of some standing.
We went for the latter as we felt that the richness of the Victorian age - in terms of characters, incidents and invention - provided backdrops for even more fantastic (ie, ridiculous) yarns.
Thanks again for the feedback. I shall endeavour to return the compliment and read some of your entries.
Cheers for now.
John

Is this a collaborative piece then? Or was it just the name which was decided upon in conversation?
Not that it matters, just wondered.
I really loved that the maids got tuppence extra! What a wonderful detail and rather an extravegant ammount!
I'm looking forward to the exploits of the Great Knolly. With such a wuthering heights/great expectations start to life he can't fail to be a fascinating hero (or antihero, only time - or you - shall tell the innocent reader which he is to be!).
Many thanks.

Hiya,
This particular piece is a solo effort.
Most of the plots we've got lined up & most of the characters that appear are collaborative efforts.
!
