How do I get a decent nights sleep
notradamus Posted Nov 2, 2007
Lettuce. No, honestly.
Whatever it is in lettuce that makes you sleep is concentrated in the stalky bit at the bottom. You can buy a lot of lettuces and eat the stalks, or keep the stalks in the freezer after you've eaten the leaves, ready for a sleepless night.
Simon Hoggart in the Guardian recommended not closing your eyes when you're lying in the dark. It works for me. Something to do with not lying there with your eyes closed thinking about your problems.
And I second the advice about melatonin. It is, absurdly, illegal in the UK, but you can have it flown in from America. Any Brits who can't find a supplier, ask me for help and I'll check my files.
