In my experience there are several ways of getting on good terms with your ex.
Here are are few that (probably) don't include physical damage to yourself
- use your "Thumb" to leave the planet,
- press any available red button,
- leave the country

I chose the last option - but not because of my ex!!!!

Any form of "going back" is generally a bad idea. It's never the same the second time around, and one person always ends up wondering when the other will leave again.

When I was managing a large group of employees experience taught me this . . . If someone says that they will leave unless they get a pay rise or a promotion or a new car then they have already made the decision to leave, and even if they don't leave now they will almost certainly leave later. They have already thought about it, and have made the decision that it's OK to leave. If you really need that person then you can probably delay the departure (with money!) but the loyalty and trust is gone.

Without absolute trust there can be no true relationship.

Don't have any regrets about decisions you made in the past (e.g. dumping him). It was a decision made with the information available at the time and with feelings you were feeling at that moment, and at the time it was the right way to go.
Trust your feelings - they usually do a better job than your brain!

There is absolutely no way to be friends with your ex. Thats why they are ex girlfriends/boyfriends. You dont want to be near them anymore. Everyone say "Lets be friends." But they NEVER mean it.
Anyone who splits up does so because there is something fundamentally wrong with their relationship with the other person, which generally means that ANY form of relationship would have the same serious faults.
Anybody who believes that they can be friends with their ex is seriously deluding themselves. The feelings of loathing and seething hatred that grows between ex's will alwyas get in the way.
Having said this, I am currently in discussion with my ex on getting back together.

Well, already having had the conversation with my ex about getting back together (and being accepted and then rejected in the space of 2 days), I have come to realize that I really don't actually want any form of communication with him at all, that I made an EXTREMLY good choice by dumping him, and that the sight of him makes me want to hurl
