I went a saw "Hero" last week. Very nice to look at but a bit pedestrian. Also the fighting bits reminded me of "Dragon Ball Z" a bit .
Watched Kill Bill 1 and 2 back to back last night, when watched like that it is soooooo much better.
In my pile of DVDs are "Shaolin Soccer", "Ichi the Killer" and the "Star Wars Trilogy" boxed set. So I have a busy weekend planned.
I might go and see "Layer Cake" on Thursday..

Watched Daydream Believer - the story of The Monkees last night.
Not bad, but hardly brilliant.
Then flicking through the forrin stations, caught That Famous Sharon Stone bit from Basic Instinct in German.

I'm just off to the video shop coincidentally....gonna get Dawn Of The Dead! Saw Shaun Of The Dead & loved it!
Watched Spiderman on Sky at that the weekend & i'm really tempted to watch Mystic River on Front Row.
One film i really enjoyed recently was The Missing (Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett)
Anyone seen Passion Of The Christ....i'm sorely tempted to get that from the rental shop too??!!

kaiser_Wil, if you can only see one film I'd make it Hero. Collateral is very, very good (and this is from someone who loathes Tom Cruise) but the style has been done before, there's nothing too innovative in it. On the other hand I have never seen anything like the cinematography in Hero and especially the way the music is so perfect for what's on screen

Puts Hero on the list.
Are there any films people are looking forward to:
I'm looking forward to a film called 'The Incredibles' by the lot who did Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo. Which is about a family of superheros.
Also there is 'The Long Engagement' by Jean Pierre Jeanet the guy who did 'Amelie.'

The Incedibles is the next big film I'm looking forward to, though Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason should be really good too

I heard that "Gothika" is one of the worst films ever made.

Dawn of the Dead was good. I thoroughly enjoyed freaking my friend out in it...though I have to admit that I was freaked a few times (and I'm not normally one to get scared in films)...
Kaiser - watch Hero. You can watch Collateral by piecing together all the other Tom Cruise films in your head.

Gothika WAS pretty bad...but to be fair, it wasn't THAT bad...I'm sure Catwoman will be worse...supposedly the only good thing about it is Halle's body...it's gotten such a bad thrashing from the critics...

Of course! You don't think they would stop at the tv series?...
