Ok I admit I'm not the biggest fan of the lord of the rings movies
but I did like the books...
same thing applies for the hobbit, I love the book of the hobbit,
as for the films... part three will have a lot of explaining to do
So the first film basically just showed them setting out...
film two shows the intrepid group getting into the mountain and meeting the dragon,
thats it.... more or less
there are some wonderful scenes made up from someone's imagination, hundreds of spiders, a disinterested elven king who doesn't want anything to do with the lands outside his kingdom, poisoned arrows, a random red haired elven love interest and Legolas..... in one scene after defeating a load of orcs as if they were no more dangerous than snails he gets in a scrape with three or four of the things kills most of them and comes out perfect except for a slightly bloody noise... which he inspects as if it is some amazing phenomenon never before seen.
indeed in this movie the elves... Legolas and the red head love interest... are so kick ass I'm surprised anyone else is needed to defeat the darkness...
anyway... it was a long three hours, I will go see the final part next year but only so I've seen it all
if there aren't strange elf dwarf halflings I'll be surprised
