Dr Anthea - ah who needs to learn things... just google it!

I find summer colds much more annoying than there winter counterparts
I feel if i haven't been soaked or frozen or blown across town then I don't deserve to suffer.
but then I remembered, I did get soaked...
last week when we took baby bear to the clinic to be weighed it rained on the way home and soaked right through my coat... I blame the lack of a true summer for giving me this cold....
but then it's England I vaguely remember most summers being like this to one extent or another, the mythical warm hot sunny summer doesn't happen here, or at least not in the north, perhaps it used to before i moved down from Scotland where it certainly never happened. I remember thinking quite clearly in my younger days that sunshine and summer was reserved for the two weeks between the end of the Scottish school holidays and the end of the English holidays. smiley - erm

which brings me to another point.
smiley - monster this year (next week?) starts primary school and doesn't that make you feel old ?
his uniform is mostly ready he needs new socks... and perhaps another pair of trousers. he has his school shoes already so I am betting on a growth spurt one week into term smiley - laugh
I somehow keep forgetting the cost of children's shoes a pair from clarks set us back £35 and it's not as if they will last that long...
I think he's got a coat I might have to look into that actually... smiley - erm

baby bear is growing fast, he will be seven weeks old on thurday, we are getting lovely smiles and baby cooing noises which make those late nights worth all the work smiley - laugh I look forward to him sleeping through the night soon hopefully he's having his morning nap as I write this journal smiley - smiley

I must book my postnatal doctors appointment today before I forget I would have done it yesterday but I wasn't sure if they would be taking new appointments on a bank holiday, I know the doctor doesn't take it off but the receptionists.... well they are a hurdle all of there own
the psoriasis is a pain and is very itchy and annoying especially in the heat probably not helped by the fact i couldn't use the cream while I was expecting, I shall have to ask for a new treatment

hope everyone else is having a happy summer

You can call me TC

Hi Anthea - I wish you lots of lovely sunny afternoons sitting outside with your little ones - this year and in the years to come. Make sure you give them lots of memories of lazy sunny afternoons building sandcastles and eating ice cream. But make sure you're in those memories, too!

Oh gosh Anthea! first day of proper school is one of the biggest milestones there is. Take some photos of monster in his new uniform to treasure as he gets even bigger.

Of course I had a job for years where I welcomed all these new little children into school, and there were more moist eyes from the mums than there were from the children themselves. Take a hankie for after you've waved him goodbye. smiley - cry I'm sure monster will love it at school, things are so much more interesting for children than they used to be. He'll have loads of fun and make some new friends too.

And how lovely to hear news of the baby, you sound such a super mum!
