Thanks for an informative article. I have learnt a lot by reading it.
One wee question for you.
I am curious about the sentence at the end of your Church Leaders section where you are writing about Pastors.
"Many prefer their church members to address them by their first name."
What are your reasons for putting this line in? It seems a mildly surprising thing to be included. Is this in your opinion a very unusual and noteworthy feature or are you just trying to get across an idea of informality and non-stuffiness of church life?

It seems unusual to me, because I've visited a few churches of different denominations, and the people there usually addressed their pastor quite formally. When even a conservative member in her 50's feels comfortable enough to address her Adventist minister by his first name, I think that's something worth noting. The warm, friendly relationship that exists (or should exist) between pastor and congregant is always nice to see.
