I have been making some changes to your article; mostly just to bring the punctuation into line with the official style, but I have changed some other stuff too. I've added a few things to clarify points which slightly confused me on first reading it through, and took out one or two things which I thought were unnecessary repetition.

I've also changed the controversial header - I know you didn't want to change it, but it seemed to me that it was possibly a bit misleading in light of the comments.

I also added in your changes, which were made after the article was copied; I hope I found them all.

Could you let me know what you think of my version so that I can either explain my changes or make more before I finally submit it?

Thanks very much! I noticed one typo in the current article that I must have missed before: Babylon was typed as "Bablylon", or something like that.
Changing the heading was fine by me--I think people took the meaning of "Supernatural" in a negative way, which wasn't how I'd intended it. "Spiritual Beliefs" sounds fine.
I was wondering what the other changes were that you made--not the punctuation, but changes to the text of the article itself.
Sadly, I didn't save a copy of my article, so I have no original with which to compare the current version, which is why I was wondering what the changes were.
Thanks again!

God's gender is usually referred to as male in Adventist (and many other Christian) churches. In the Book of Genesis, when God creates human beings, it states that they were created in His image, and then goes on to say (in the original language, as translated to me by a learned Adventist), "Male and female created He them", which made me a bit confused as to His gender.
Basically, I don't know, but I'm not sure it matters whether God is a male or female. I once attended a church service in which the Adventist pastor had us all change the words from "Father" to "Mother" when singing our hymns, as it was his Mother's Day service, and he wanted us to think of the loving, maternal aspect of God.
I'm not certain if that was well-received or not, but I personally found it interesting.
As far as holidays, I'm sure you'll find that many of the Adventists who are against Halloween are in favor of celebrating Christmas, because whether the actual date of it is accurate or not, it commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.

So the flying reindeer and the zip down the chimney aren't considered magic?

How about now? I just added one of your earlier posts. If you're happy I'll stop tinkering and send it in.

Just because Santa Claus is associated with Christmas doesn't mean that Adventist adults believe in him. Many different people around the world are Adventist--obviously, they're not all going to observe Christmas. The point is that the Adventist church has absolutely no problem with its members celebrating Christmas; in fact, many Adventist churches have Christmas services.

I'm sorry, it's not that I'm trying to cause you any problems. I really like what you've done with the formatting, for example. I was merely curious as to whether or not any of the actual content had been changed, and if so, what the changes were (I'm not referring to the section titles, of course, because I really like what you've done with them).
Happy Thanksgiving! smiley - smiley

hi! I am an adventist and i celebrate christmas. I believe that the 25dec is the wrong day because if you take what is writtenin the bible about the shepherds it couldnt be dec 25 because it would be winter and they wouldnt be out in the fields. I Dont celebrate halloween because halloween is only a celebration of the dead so hey i dont want to celebrate dead people. The communion thing well... We do the foot-washing first because that is what Christ did. In Matthew it is written about how Christ went and washed the disciples feet and then they ate. So when we have communion we do foot washing first. About the wine thing well In the bible there are many words for wine meaning different things. The one that Christ drunk was a grape juice not wine as we know it. I dont drink or smoke. I dont eat any pig or pig by products such as bacon or even salami which contains pig fat. We dont eat shellfish or fish that dont have scales. WE dont eat goat or rabbit. All of this is in the bible. The laws that were given in the old testament were for the israelites who had come out of egypt and needed to learn about what and not what to eat.
A lot of what we eat and drink is our own personal choice. But it mostly comes from the bible. And if God says dont do it. We dont do it.

Hi,
Well about the question as to whether or not the people back in Bible times had "saturday" can be clearly seen in cruxifition week. The day between Good Friday (the day Christ died) and Easter Sunday (The day he ressurected) was recognized by Jesus' follwers as the "Sabbath".
So that of course means that the christians back then did actually know that Sabbath was saturday. And also no where in the New testament do we find anything mentioned about a change in the day of worship
