As I made my way outside, the person that caught my attention, was the one with the least things to do. The kid I started to observe was around 20 years old. I couldn’t make out the exact colors and style of his clothing, since I left my glasses at home that morning, but I could tell that he was fairly well dressed for a college student. Although his attire did not completely fit the amount of sunshine Pierce is getting around noon on one of the first days of fall, it certainly complied with all of the modern standards. The kid placed himself within a shadow of the nearby tree; moreover to be exact the only reason he was not leaning against the trunk was because his backpack was doing just that instead of him. Although I would like to say he had more complex and useful reasons for being where he was, to tell the truth, he was just trying to escape the hot rays of the Southern California’s afternoon sun, while, what seemed to be waiting for something important to happen.
As motionless as his body was, any passerby could notice sudden life with which his eyes sprang, as a cute brunette, around the same age, appeared within his eyesight. Heat didn’t get to her quite as much, since she just left a cooled classroom, and her t-shirt and shorts were much better suited to the temperature outside. Thoughts about this morning, the hard to find parking spaces, and troubles getting into his first class, were pushed away into dark corners of his mind with the first glances at this carefree being. She on the other hand, seemed perfectly happy with life, with her classes picked out in advance, and about the fact that she got to school early enough to find a spot, and even had enough time to catch up on her sleep in the same shade before her classes started.
The simple conversation the two began, seemed to concentrate around a plan that grew all morning inside her little, well groomed head. The idea involved two beings interested in each other, a club, a late evening, and certain other things, that were not planned yet, but were as inevitable as the fact that my time outside was running out. At this point I decided that I intervened in privacy of others enough for a day, lifted my heavy behind, and made my way into the empty classroom, to share this experience with an empty sheet of paper.
