I am currently reading a fiction book and was struck by one of the stories in it. It's about a girl who called herself "Glass" because she was disfigured and people would look through her like glass. I have found myself feeling the same way recently. I admit that I have been guilty of looking through people also. As humans we are scared to look people in the eye and see the real person. We only look at people long enough to miss them as we walk by. Since reading this story I have been making a conscious effort to not look through people and judge them before I know them. I hope that people will do the same for me and not look through me anymore.
