It’s eight-fifteen Monday morning when I realize I haven’t done my English homework. Too bad that particular epiphany hadn’t happened 5 minutes earlier, before the bell rang. I could have lurked off to the library to finish. As it happens, I am the only one without a neat summary of Crime and Punishment in front of me. Mr. Bellamy notices this. He’s not pleased. If looks could kill, both me and Joe Polaski would be in critical condition, due to Mr. Bellamy’s lazy eye. Joe mouths “Should’ve done your homework.” Yeah, Joe. Tell me something I don’t know.
