Spring is here! And so, just to depress you all, is one of my poems...
Bridey’s Song.
In the morning song I hear her,
Laughing by the water,
Every time she comes along,
She will sing a different song,
Which is why I’ve never caught her.
At the sunrise she is near me,
Whispering while I’m sleeping,
When I get out of my bed,
The poems have all fled,
Or strangely have no meaning.
Bridey, oh my Bridey!
Do you know what you do to me?
Thanks for all that you have said,
This golden fire in my head,
And for singing your song through me.
I am madden by her teasing,
Though I find it oh so pleasing,
I stumble and I break,
Throughout all the songs I make,
Yet her allure is unceasing.
Maybe one day she’ll reward me,
Near the end of this life’s journey,
Let me drink once from her grail,
Before my wit and reason fail,
And hear her song through clearly.
Bridey, oh my Bridey!
Do you know what you do to me?
Thanks for all that you have said,
The golden fire in my head,
And for singing your song through me.
Bright blessings for the coming of the light!

Have I not read this poem before? Or is it a variation on a previous one?
In any case - I like it!
Meanwhile, spring is washing over me as we speak . . . lovely!

Cool poem, Math! Yes, spring is here, as I can see looking out my window - it is, strangely, bright and sunny and above 60 degrees Fahrenheight - what's even more strange is that such weather is strange, seeing as this is Southern California we're talking about, but it's been raining for ages.
Tom Lehrer the songwriter says that when spring comes he poisons pigeons in the park. Has anyone tried this pastime yet?

Hi Az
Yes, you have read this poem before. I have a little mental cupboard and tend to take out what seems appropriate at the time

Here in Wales it is 16 degrees Centrigrade, cool and overcast but spring nonetheless. The towns are bedecked with daffodils (our national flower), and the lambs are nearly all out and gambolling across the hillsides.
Blessings both,

Here at work we celebrate each equinox and solstice with a pint of beer, which the boss buys. An enlightened attitude to preserving olde traditions, I like to think.

Here it's getting up to about 25º in the afternoons and the first of the orange blossom (azahar) is coming out.
We've been 'celebrating' by doing a serious bout of spring cleaning. Actually, it feels quite good, especially when we stop. .

Here's the funny thing, it's autumn here, not spring, and we're still having 25 degree days! (Not that I am complaining...)

Hi ladies
Even here in grim old Britain the spring has sprung with temperatures of 19 degrees, quite balmy T-shirt weather.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Blessings,
