There's a shadow on the faces
Of the men who send the guns
To the wars that are fought in places
Where their business interests run
Jackson Browne 1986 (Yes 1986, nothing has changed.)
Bush has no compunction about spending hundreds of billions of dollars on ending lives in Afghanistan, Iraq and god-knows where else. Yet reluctantly committs 15 billion to saving lives through the AIDS fight in Africa.
Meanwhile one fifth of the world's population doesn't even have access to clean drinking water.
Saving lives is boring and unromantic, ending lives makes Bush feel like John Wayne.
Let's put it into perspective.
