I just came back from a 4 day holiday in Amsterdam with a couple of friends. I think my gran was disappointed that I had not been mugged, attacked or murdered when I was there - so she could say "I told you so". Advice to anyone who goes there: the junkies and pickpockets are the least of your worries - the cyclists are the ones to look out for. Crossing the road in Amsterdam is like performing a death defying stunt, having to look out for cars, cyclists, buses, lorries, trams, roadsweepers, not to mention electric wheelchairs!
