Greeting fellow Beemer buddy from SA! (No I haven't mistyped USA - I'm on the southern tip of Africa) I ride a 1980 R80R named 'Candy' and she's done 122000+kms. I think she's a USA model - she hasn't got a headlight switch - but she's fitted with a metric speedometer and odometer. She's marvelous and I love her!!

Nothing Like a Boxer Twin!! I haven't named my bike but my sons' initials are B.M.W. I bought a 323i 2years ago. BMW on 2 wheels and 4 wheels.

BMW 323i - two years ago? Hmmm! Could have been built in SA you know! All right hand drive BMW 3 series four door cars (and batches of left hand drives) are built in the BMW factory at Rosslyn, near Pretoria (where I live). ENJOY!
I'm currently toying with getting a 'Corbin Gunfighter' seat for my R80 as the original is in need of replacement. Do you know anyone who has fitted one and what are they like?

I have a friend who tried the corbin. Good fit and comfortable. Kinda hard to pick up the lovlies without a passenger throne.

I'm not one fer picking up the luvlies. I'm too married to pick em up and too old for them to be interested in me in the first place .
I was interested to know if they are comfortable as I'll need to replace the seat in the next year - when I sit on the present perch I compress the foam and end up getting the edge of the cowling pressing into my thighs
I wouldn't want to spend a lot of cash for something if it's not going to be better than what I've got or get as factory replacement. (The Cordin will work out about 20% less) - but both are damn expensive when you have to buy dollars using SA Rands as I do!
