I think this is quite simple, but also an interesting tribute to the man himself. It is not meant to be nasty, it's just that with books still coming, web sites and a movie (possibly) can he really be totally dead?

Hi Hrafn,
Welcome to H2G2!
I'm afraid this really isn't suitable for the *edited guide*. The edited guide is a kind of online, interactive encyclopaedia that's peer written and reviewed by researchers (members of the public). Entries have to comprehensively cover the topic in the title. Short "joke" entries like this will not get into the edited guide.
If you click on my name, you'll get a link to my personal space. There's some useful links that you might want to read with lots of info about writing guidelines for the edited guide. I look forward to reading your contributions in the future.
In the meantime, could you remove this from the edited guide? You can do this by going to the main peer review page and clicking on the "remove" link next to your entry in the list at the bottom.
Best wishes
Otto

I see it has been removed now. I think someone should get on with doing a good, well researched and balanced entry on the subject.
OK so I've already started it.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
