How shall I count thee ways?
Dibbler Posted Mar 18, 2004
One thing y'all seem to be bypassing - the use of the force... lets not forget that in Darksaber (SW) thirty Jedi threw seventeen Victory Class Star Destroyers to the outer edge of the Yavin system.
As far as the Imperial Superlaser is concerned I think it comes as a given that it'll be a sufficiently powerful shot to destroy any ST ship - it can turn a planet to rubble easily enough...

Don't really mean much, For starters, If we were being full universes vs each other then SW would be defeated by a click of Q's fingers.
But realistically, it is entirely possible that the high science ability of teh federation coudl find ways to immobilise, or enhance teh ability of their own "Jedi"
As for superlasers. Well According to "The Cage" The Enterprises full phaser force could deliver teh power to "Destroy an entire continent" And that was a 100 year old ship. Still TNG got a little overenthusiastic about these things. However, in "Frame of Mind" (TNG) Riker points out that a hand phaser on full power and wide field could destroy hald a good sized building.
In the end, SW weapons hurl superheated plasma, which can damage fed ships, however, feds use phased plasma and anti-matter torpidoes (Dont know what quantum are, Mini black holes perhaps?) One of the boons of phased plasma is that if you match an energy fields Phase frequency, the shields are useless until retuned (Generations, Any borg story) So the treks have no worries about SW shields.
Finally, the power output difference between a fusion reactor (SW, backup power in trek) and and anti-matter reactor

You know this is the first time in my life I've ever seen any one call the extreme greed of the Star Trek franchise a mark in its favor. Personally I respect the fact Lucas is not pumping out weak movies just to make cash(don't get me wrong I like Star Trek but frankly Generations was terrible given the choice I'd rather watch Ep 1(my least fav SW movie) any day). For my own part I like SW better because I like fantasy more then I like Sci fi.
