I just posted a first draft of the first article in what I hope will be a fairly long series. The series is going to be called "Statistical perils in Hitchhiking" and the first entry is on regression to the mean A87780946.

Nice. I've come across regression to the mean mostly in discussion of healthcare: Ben Goldacre mentions it a fair bit in Bad Science. People get sick, try some medicine, and get better, and then think the medicine has something to do with it, which it may well not. It's a form of the traditional logical fallacy post hoc ergo propter hoc.
