Nothing from Canada?

Ah Canada, land of water (Atlantic, Pacific, Great Lakes, greater lakes), mountains (large and small, and forests. How could you forget us? I personally would reccomend the campsites at the Pacific Rim National Park. There are places where you can open your tent flap and see miles of white beaches, crashing surf, and nothing between you and Asia but water. Nearby towns have great supplies of local fresh caught fish as well as native art, hot springs, and excellent restaurants if you want to splurge. There are paved bicycle paths set away from the road that go past Royal public gardens and surf shops, but most of it is just wild with lots of safe wildlife.
That's just one place, how could you not include us?

Because no-one offered any information about Canada
(and it was up on the Front page for a week inviting people to post)
I'll see about updating this with the information you've provided.

Wouldn't normally do this, as the entry has already been compiled, but I did think it was a shame no-one from Canada posted to this topic, so I've added your material and credited you as a Researcher.
Many thanks for that.
While you're here, perhaps I can temp you with this week's Topic of the Week, 'City Breaks'?

Many thanks. I am new here so I didn't see the original posting. I would be happy to contribute as soon as I can (family weekend). Again, thank you- you have made me very welcome.

Yes, sadly I was away for a week and busy before that and shamefully missed the opportunity to let the world in on a few spectacular backpack camping spots availible among the Coast Mountain range here on the West coast of Canada.
Let me note for those roaming these threads that the best pit toilet view is decidedly that from the lonley delapitated facility located at Russet Lake high above Whistler Village along the Singing Pass trail. The campsites consist of small tent sized flat spots on a rocky lake shore above the tree line easiest spotted by the piles of rock on the windward side used to provide relief from the always cold wind. An alpine cabin offers winter accomadations on a first come first serve basis for the skiers that use the natural bowl on the South shore of the lake as a workout for their telemark technique. You can use it in the summer if you have a love of small rodents. But it is the view of the Overlord glacier from the doorless ancient weathered wood privy that is the real memory maker. You can answer the call of nature and contemplate her majesty and beauty at the same time.

I camped in Jasper, Alberta for a couple of nights in 1995 and really enjoyed it. I guess a lot of it was novelty - camping in the Rockies, chopping wood, building a fire, etc. - I really am city-folk.
