So if I get into an elevator and I want to visit h2, I hit the button for the third floor. But if I step into a lift I need to hit the second floor button?
That must be a super-confusing place!

Well as I seem to remember you have floors numbered 1, 2, 3 etc. missing out the number 13... we on the other hand have Ground, then 1, 2, 3, and include the 13th floor, so when we talk about floor 14 or above we'd be two floors out
Is that all too confusing or what?

We have basments too, we just call them lower ground, oh except in this building where we have Basment, Lower Ground, Ground, First Floor... hmmm I think I'll shut up now

In a lot of the buildings i go into, they start with p3 (or however many levels underground) as the lowest level, on up..
p3, p2, p1, m, 2, 3, 4, ..
Where p is parking marked backwards (like negitive numbers) and M is the mezzanene(sp?) level. the 13'th floor is usually used as a service floor and not accessable by the public elevators.
