Hello Greta
We seem to have friends in common and I think we have met on the punk thread, so I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Superdogmonkey (my spousal unit) has spoken of you and I see you are friends with Simon (silly sausage) too. I 'speak' to Simon regularly and we drone on about our kid(s) to each other so we don't have to drive everyone else potty talking about them!
I realise that you are in contact with lots of people, so if you don't have time to talk, don't worry. But if you do, I'd love to hear from you.

Hello mrs the wife I bet Si and superdogmonkey (aka mr the hubby) have told you I'm going to a 42 stage
Thanks for dropping by! It's very good to be able to add more people to my friends list I cannot come up with anything interesting to say right now, but I promise to be more, erm, interesting in the coming days.
Love,
G.

Hi again, thanks for getting back to me, no worries about not saying anything interesting... check out my journals if you want to see not interesting! SDM has told me some stuff about you already, and I know that we share a similar taste in music which is no mean feat around here!
A boring question, but a good opener hopefully (to coin the name of another thread) what stuff are you listening to now? I'm in a bit of a Cure and Bowie phase at the moment, but with a bit of dance thrown in too. My tastes are eclectic to say the least!
Speak soon

Ooooh music. I'm a bit of a singles girl, so my current faves are:
Har Mar Superstar, "Power Lunch"
Pete Yorn, "Strange Condition"
Asian Dub Foundation, "Fortress Europe"
DJ Tom Craft, "Loneliness"
Nada Surf, (can't remember the name of the song)
Interpol, "Obstacle 1"
Anything by The Vines
Evan Dando, "Stop My Head"
Anything by Ben Folds, must buy his album
Anything by the Pixies, or nearly so
How's that for eclectic taste?

First of all, sorry for the delay in getting back here... as you know baby wrangling duties take priority at this end. Those yells are really hard to ignore!
I have to admit I don't do singles anymore, more of an album girl really. Even then I don't buy them myself - it would mean taking away one of Superdogmonkey's favorite pastimes if I did! I have been listening to The Datsuns, The Vines and The White Stripes as more recent bands, but with summer coming, I can feel a definite need to listen to something a bit funky. Yup, I do have Funkadellic and that sort of thing in my collection too. My summer listening usually gets a bit groovy - it must be the heat.
I am not familiar with a couple of the tracks you mentioned, I'll have to get SDM to get them so I can have a listen.
Oh well, a stinking cold is making staying awake to post rather difficult so I'll sign off here.

Oops! Sorry! Bad backlog got in the way.
Getting better. In a groovy mood myself, must be the spring. I'll do everything in my power to make it last. I - will - not - be - beaten.
I've spent far too long agonising over somebody who is turning out to be not such a good friend after all. For the first time in months, I feel irritation at his antics. And I'm not so dejected when I check my mail and he hasn't written.
Of course, sooner or later he'll pop up again. But I might really not reply at all. I'm really sick of his attitude...
Sorry about the rant, I really had to vent...

Vent here anytime!
Sounds as if you are having a bit of a time of it right now. I don't know the background to all this, but it definitely sounds a good thing that you are irritated by this chaps actions now and no longer dejected. Breaking a connection with someone is not easy, but sometimes it is the best thing to do. I hope that it all works out however makes you happiest.
So, what else is happening in your world? At this end my 20 month old daughter decided to call the emergency services much to my horror. They were very understanding but I was mortified! Oh well, that's the sort of thing that kids do apparently. I have also heard that I will be contacted very soon by a publisher with regard to some illustrations that they want done for a book that I had been working on. It appears that I may be offered a contract which will keep me busy for several months so I have everything crossed!
You write don't you? Superdogmonkey has told me that you have had a couple of books published. What sort of stuff do you do? I write and edit too, but only factual stuff, mainly for magazines... very dull and for a very small audience. Still, you never know, I may surprise myself and produce something that required talent one day.

Leaving to go to Rome in little over an hour, and the works still isn't finished!
Will come back with the details as soon as I get back.
