Whose Rights?

I think it should be pointed out that, in the 16th century during the scientific revoultion, the Church actully encouraged the work of Bacon and other scientists. The Church saw the inquiry of the universe as a better way to glorify God and His perfect creation. They thought, at first, that the more we knew about God's work, the better we could honour him. Little did they know that the discoveries being made would soon conflict with the pre-established dogma!
