Well, it's been a fair enough week, and the weekend's been nice so far.
We've managed to sell about $120 worth of used CDs, videos, and graphic novels, so that'll help cover the half dozen or so CDs we've ordered recently.
Got the bathroom cleaned and several loads of laundry washed, and swept up about two pounds of kitty litter that our little feline rototiller has strewn about. Had a lovely fish dinner last night (pricey, but good!) up in Evanston (about a 30 minute drive away, nice and relaxing ride). I had wahoo, which I've never had before and need to research a bit, with capers and garlic mashed potatoes.
Watched my DVD of Terry Pratchett's "Soul Music" in its entirety, and "The Dinner Game", which I'll cover in the DVD thread. Today we're going to need to buy some shipping supplies for all this stuff we're selling, and get K that haircut before he wigs out on me. No pun intended.
Hope y'all are having a great weekend!

"wahoo"????? Is it related to Yahoo? Surely you are not so addicted to the internet you are eating your service provider??
*rethinks that statement...decides to leave it in...as it were
Here in sunny France, We Have Been Gardening. I only have a little house & no actual garden, but do have a tiny little area outside the french windows, plus am encroaching further every day onto the pavement; we refer to it as "the terrace"; it's about 2ft wide, but we annoy & amuse the passers by 'cos we sit defiantly out there on camping stools sipping our & as if we own the entire universe.
I have lodas of plants, everything from tomatoes to petunias; and unlike most guys, viking is very into plants also, his balcony is crammed full of geraniums & stuff. So today we rigged up hanging baskets (Eric & Trad in one, Portulaca in the other) & planted Coleus & begonias in various other pots, transplanted things which were feeling cramped into bigger pots, squabbled over who gets which plant (!normal behaviour for us!)
And now we are listening to Bob Marley VERY LOUD, in fact, VERY VERY LOUD & it is so nice to see viking with a; it is becoming pretty obvious the guy has a massive emotional connection with all things African or indeed any place with sunshine & jah type folk; i suppose he may be right "I was breastfed by a beautiful Somalian woman, it's literally in my blood!"
*Maybe we might end up in Madagascar, Michel has met a nice lady there & is moving there as soon as he sells his houses here....hmmm....possibilities of teaching work & viking setting up a bar; you never know, it's nice to dream anyway!
So, yes, a happy Sunday here so far; glad yours is good PC, what about the rest of you?

Wahoo is apparently otherwise known as Pacific kingfish or ocean barracuda. It was really tasty. Here's a link to some info: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/Gallery/Descript/Wahoo/Wahoo.html
No, I wouldn't eat my internet provider. Comcast are b******s!!
The gardeing sounds fun, it's nice to have someone to do the transplanting and planting with. Maybe you've just inspired me something for K and I to do this afternoon.
I think that living in Madagascar with a plant-loving Viking sounds way cool!

Me too!! *If* it happens we will invite you out for a holiday; problem is you would probably never leave! Viking went to Guadeloupe for a week's holiday & eventually returned 4 years later (having worked as a DJ meantime)
The escape options at the moment are:
India; Pondicherry in particular.
Madagascar
Zanzibar
Spain (i am anti this one, but very in favour of the others)

Oh, the silliness.
Inspired by some good-natured banter elsewhere on h2 (don't ask where, I'll never find it again) regarding songs about drugs, K and I were coming up with a list off the tops of our heads, stuff like "White Light, White Heat", "White Rabbit", etc.
So when I mention "Golden Brown", he gives me an incredulous look and says "that's a song about pancakes, innit?"

Oh PC, i have told you off about this before; kaz really doesn't need all this hassle & the raccoons probably won't enjoy the journey. Did you remember to punch air holes in the box this time?
As for the cheese; it is probably against loads of regulations.
The other stuff will probably get there Ok.

Oh, b*gger! I knew I forgot something...
Since raccoons don't seem to deal well with transatlantic travel, I'd decided to have a go at opossums this time. I've sent Dramamine and mild sedatives to help them relax during the journey, and magazines for them to read.
The cheese is actually nourishment for the possums. I imagine they'll have it eaten before it enters customs. I hope they enjoy the wine I sent along with it.

Did you remember to put the corkscrew in? And obviously train the opossums previously in how to open the Pi**ed off opossums are more of a problem than pi**ed up opossums at the other end.
Many major airlines operate on this principle.

I've never had raccoons, ferrets, etc. I did once have a rabbit. Terri used to have ferrets galore, perhaps we can coerce her into telling us about that again?!
Key: Complain about this post
