I just spent 20 minutes hunting for the remote control. I looked under the toss pillows, under the couch cushions, on and in all of the end tables and dressers, in the pantry, in the fridge, on the back porch, in the foyer, and in the bathroom.

Finally, I found it. It was under the cat.

Was there a particular program the cat wanted to watch?

Should have been the first place you looked - my cat likes to lie on the newspaper just when I want to read it so you should've known.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me- he plays with it all the time, sits on it often, and occasionally steps on it and switches channels or skips ahead on a DVD on us.

I have a little dog that does that too .... when will we ever learn.

And I bet he was cheerfully watching you search, too!

Oh, yes- he knew I was searching frantically for something, and his little head was working from side to side as he watched me. But he was indifferent enough to have all of his paws tucked under and to wash his tail at the same time. The brat.
